If you have launched Resolve after you have the iMac acting as a second screen, and the Dual Screen menus are grayed out, then apparently Resolve does not think that's an actual second screen.I also couldn't play the files and the video was greyed out. With your still in the Timeline hover the mouse curser over the front or the end and the trim tool will appear. click and drag to either extend or shorten the stills running time.
